In 2001 Darryl and I made the trip of a lifetime. Darryl was in remission after having been diagnosed with aggressive bowel cancer. On a whim we bought airline tickets and left for a six month tour of Europe and Scandinavia. We never made a booking, saying that if we did not know where we were going we could not get lost. We never did lose our way and 45 thousand kilometres later arrived back in Paris.

Reaching Delphi and the Temple of Athena was the pinnacle of our journey. It was my time to be with my Muses.

Darryl and I walked the Sacred Way and drank from the waters of Castalia. Darryl took the photograph of the ancient, gnarled Olive Tree near the Temple of Athena, a precious tree which has endured and speaks of resilience, stores the memories of pilgrims, like us who have trod this path.

Darryl died on January 19th 2007.

Delphi will always be a place of our heart, a place where one day we will be reunited by the Olive tree.

This is a place, dedicated to the memory of Darryl, for others to share their special, places of the heart.
