On the Island

On the Island

noble white petals
yield the stillness of a dream
takes your breath away

a liquid blue soul
serene in beauty and breath
she waxes and wanes

While painting this piece, I felt a connection to Lori. It was like I was painting her soul. I stayed in a beautiful meditative state all the way through to writing the poem that is in honor of Lori’s beauty. This one is for you Lori — not sure if it’s how you view yourself or your soul. It’s just what came to me while painting and reflecting on who you are as I know you through your art and words.

  3. Thank you! I am so touched by this. Actually, yesterday I was so stressed out, I was anything but serene. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something through your art and poetry, Genece. I need to be like liquid blue and learn to go with the flow more. Thank you. I so appreciate this as it is so timely. :)

  7. As we women know that circle around each of us allows
some in and keeps some out….we the fortunate with like souls of the kind that allows them to enter this circle and we and them are truely blessed……
Genece this has happened to me with others and I have experineced the same closeness and insights as if they were my kin …I have never met them or talked with them but somehow in this universe they came into my circle …..
We have such a minute amount of knowledge in how the universe works
