Places of the Heart

Fall Into Me

Fall Into Me

in the calm stillness
of a vivid opal sky
beholds our future

quietly, I hear
the vibrant sound of your breath
calling me to you

as you softly gaze
deep inside the sun’s divide
reflected on the lake

reds and oranges
hold me under the sunset
so I can see you

along the crevice
waiting for the poetry
that fuses our heart

in gentle motion
let yourself fall into me
and I into you

as soul counterparts
kiss me with your solitude
and color me true

painted dreams of you
without effort and no echo
to chisel away

nothing to haunt us
into the fear of joining
you and I are free

boundless and open
slowly the force carries us
home to each other

Not ever married, I don’t feel alone or uhappy most of the time with not having a life partner. Yet, sometimes I feel someone close. It’s as if he’s right here next to me, especially when I’m sitting in the stillness. Other times, he even appars in my dreams–always in the kitchen chopping veggies or sitting on a dock gazing into the sun across the waters (the digital painting and poem above was inspired by this dream).

Often, I figure he is the masculine part of my psyche. Or, someone from the other side–perhaps a guardian. Since I’ve had this vision and dream of him for 20+ years, I’ve lost most of the desires to find or be with someone. I find myself flipping back and forth between believing I’ve given up and believing I am at peace with not sharing life with a soul partner.

This morning, I had a new thought. Perhaps he’s my muse–always reaching into the depths of my heart so I remain open and willing to love. I’m not talking about romantic love (yes, it could still happen and I know that)–it’s the kind of love that I feel for humanity, the earth, animals, plants, spirit and sky. That’s the love that keeps me rich in writing and painting, in creating from places of the heart.

If your heart is open, love, in one form or another, will find it. The fact that someone is alone, doesn’t mean they are lonely. And yes, your muse makes a wonderful life partner.

Being in an ‘alone-time’ in my own life your words and image really speak to me, Genece. How wonderful to have your own Animus-figure so real, so present! It gives me something to aim for!
Your painting leads the viewer right inside it!! Lovely!

The most important place of the heart is within the heart. It is the one organ we cannot survive without and my reading has long proven that those with a rich inner life find the meaning and purpose that they need. Wonderful post that fills me with hope as I move in to a phase of my life where I live alone.

    I love these lines:
    kiss me with your solitude
    and color me true
    and
    vivid opal sky -
…sounds like a very tender muse to me…a great gift

I must have missed this poem you wrote Lori.
There is so much to read on the sites ,that I wonder how I will keep this old but wanting to be active brain up with you all……..

    …… LOVE……

The heart is a part of the soul.
    It is the yearning chamber
It puts the finishing touches to our lives
    Sometimes it leaves us unexpectingly

Then it returns in another form
This is the challenging of the soul
    This is the one that
    keeps us on our toes
Driving and encouraging us to live

It can be a slave driver ,but only
    until we see its rewards
We then know we can do it,create it,
    push ourselves a little harder
It can be our Muse or companion

Looking any further than this may bring
    unhappiness,frustration or unfullfilled
    longing for something unattainable
    We have savoured the sweetest
    perhaps in our youth
    or perhaps in a fleeting
    moment……but never
    forever
    This we will never know.

One loves one cares one gives one takes
what we have can be precious indeed
but we are forced to take notice
    much more often
    than we would like..
    The road is less Travelled

Your picture drew me in first, then I resonated with your words of beauty. And lastly, I felt honored to read your explanation. Some have soulmates that manifest in the physical and some have their soulmates on other levels of being. And a few have both. I am so glad I happened across your posting from last September.
